Bettie June Russell Corso

Bettie June (Baggett) Russell Corso, 74, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:25 P.M., Monday, March 31, 2003 in her home.
Bettie was a minister's wife for twenty-five years to the late Rev. Clifford Russell, where they pastored several churches and served the Lord in the mission fields of Arizona.  She then worked several years as a ward clerk in Pinckneyville Hospital.  She retired from Phelps Dodge.  After her retirement, she provided home health care.  She was a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.
She was born June 1, 1928 in Makanda, Illinois to Raymond Earl and Ruby Pearle Baggett.
She married Clifford Russell on August 28, 1945.  He preceded her in death on September 2, 1972.  She then married John Quincy Corso on December 13, 1996.  He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002.  She joined her beloved son, Dennis Russell, who passed away on February 3, 2003.  Also preceded in death by sister Evelyn Whitley and her parents.
Bettie is survived by daughter Kathy Hagler and husband Gerald of Du Quoin, IL and daughter Belinda Biggers and husband Fred of Walnut Ridge, AR, daughter-in-law Carolyn Russell of Jonesboro, AR, grandchildren - Russell Martie and wife Tammy of Murphysboro, IL, Lori Lee and husband Kent of Murphysboro, Michelle Brown and husband Steve of Jonesboro, AR, Brice Russell and wife Kerry of Jonesboro, AR, Leigh Patterson and husband Jack of Little Rock, AR, Mark Biggers and wife Jennifer of Walnut Ridge, AR.  She was blessed to have eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews who loved and admired her and she will live in their hearts forever.
Funeral services were at1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Old Du Quoin Baptist Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark and Rev. Silas Morgan officiating.
Friends called from 6 to 9 P.M., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Herrin City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Perry County or the March of Dimes or Old Du Quoin Baptist Church in her honor.
